I just got this scope so can't go into great detail. The optics are a great improvement over the SR scope and are quite good. It isn't a vari-power scope; rather, a vari-speed scope. It's fixed power depends on your speed setting. With my SZ 380 I am using the 1st 4 crosshairs for 20,40,60, and 80 yds. To do this, I have it on about 235'/sec setting. It works as advertized at the 360'/sec setting with my heavy arrows. I like being able to do this but could have gone 20,30,40,50,60 and more for the bottom vertical x-hair mark. The distance measuring is for 1 speed setting only and the fast focus must be reset when changing distances so I don't see this as a practical feature. The supplied scope base just adds weight to the already hefty scope. I removed the base and mounted the scope with medium Weaver rings. The optics, the x-hair spacing, the graduated lighted reticles are excellent IMO. Though I mentioned some short commings of this scope, they are greatly over balanced by it's positives. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
